Fracture lines can be transversal, oblique, helical and spiral. A fracture can have several fracture planes. If these lines cross, the fracture is called comminuted (splintered).
There are 4 types of fragments displacement: on length, on width, angularly and rotary. But some fractures are undisplaced.
Bone reduction (bone fragments replacement) must be performed quickly only by experienced surgeons and under anesthesia.
